21 July 2010 - Kan Yuenyong, SIU Director, had a presentation at Thai Netizen Network seminar "3 Years Computer Crime Act" at Novotel Siam Square.

The event has more than 50 attendances. Kan's topic is "Cyber Citizen's Migration" discussing the movement of online political interest groups in Thailand during crisis.

In 2009, SIU team as the committee of Thai Netizen Network conducted the internet part of research project "Rethinking Media Reform and Integrated Media Policy Reform 2010-2020". This project is the joint research on 4 kinds of media in the future: printed, film, broadcast and internet. The other partners are Thai Film Foundation, Campaign for Popular Media Reform and the Faculty of Communication Art, Chulalongkorn University.

Now the final research outcome is published into a book called "Rethinking Media Reform and Integrated Media Policy Reform 2010-2020". The digital copy should be available soon. This project was sponsored by Heinrich Böll Foundation.

SIU, as the creator of Political Base the most comprehensive data source for Thai politics, now join the Thailand Political Database (TPD) project to build biggest political data in Thailand.

Kan Yuenyong, SIU Director, joined a panel discussion in Nation Channel's Kom-Chad-Luek program.

The program is hosted by Jomquan Laopetch. The topic of 18 June 2010 is "Young People on Politics Reform".

Charoenchai Chaipaiboonwong gave an interview for Voice TV on the government's Reformation Plan. The program was live on 18 June 2010.

Thai Rath, largest newspaper in Thailand, published SIU Director's comment on internet censorship.

Karn Yuenyong, director of the independent Siam Intelligence Unit think tank, said financial sanctions on protest leaders, censorship of "red shirt" media and the beginning of the rice-planting season meant there would be no quick return to the streets.
